Diabetic Weight Loss

FAQ Page 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,

Q: This is probably the easiest weight loss program I have ever been on. You said you would base my meal plans on the foods I liked and you kept your word. The videos are awesome. The personal attention is so much appreciated. I feel like you take a personal interest in me. I lost fifteen pounds my first month and I feel so much better. What about the "yo yo" effect I hear so much about? Is this going to be the case with my program? Will I slip back?
A: The "yo yo effect" is primarily caused by those on a "diet" which implies a temporary condition. The Diabetic Weight Management program is something you'll enjoy doing for the rest of your life. You'll discover that the better you feel, the more energy you'll have the more you'll want to do things to stay healthy. When I was 270lbs I didn't have much energy to do anything. I was exhausted and even though I loved going to the gym it took all my will power to drag myself there. However, as I started to lose weight I felt energized. I had lots of energy and my body almost compelled me to go to the gym or do something to challenge my body. Others who have mastered their Diabetic Weight Management program report the same. Remember, you're eating things you like. You're eating until you're satisfied. There's no reason for you to "slip back".

Q: I've been taking Malox for years for my acidty stomach. You're the first person who's ever told me that my problem is from not having enough acid rather than having too much. Why is stomach acid so important to losing weight?
A: You have to keep in mind that there's big money when it comes to selling anti-acids. The more you take the more problems you have and the worse your health gets. You get acid reflux, sour stomach, constipation and other problems because your body is low on stomach acid. When you're stomach is low on acid then it can't break down the foods you eat. Which means that many bacteria and other pathogens which should have been killed in the stomach are passed on to your colon. Nutrients in foods are not absorbed because they haven't been broken down so the body can use them. And, you have foods such as steak which is only partially digested trapped in your intestines. The result is belching, gas, bloating, acid reflux and a host of other problems. Your doctor can confirm this.

Q: Got another question on asperatme. Is it really worse than sugar? I mean of the two wouldn't it be better to take asperatme than sugar?
A: Aspartame is a excitotoxin which is known to cause cancer and birth defects according to Dr H.J. Roberts, diabetes specialist. Dr Louis Elsas, a Professor of Genetics, at Emory University, testified before Congress that phenylalanine, a breakdown product of aspartame metabolism, concentrates in the placenta, causing mental retardation in the baby. It also has the problem of being highly addictive. Which means the more you try to break away from junk foods the harder it will be because you're no longer a sugar addict you're now an aspartame addict. Aspartame makes you crave carbohydrates and so you gain weight. The formaldehyde stores in the fat cells, particularly on the hips and thighs. (Can you say cellulite?) At least with sugar your body can process it. With aspartame it has no idea what to do with it. To answer your question, of the two sugar is healthier for you than aspartame. Although I'm not recommending you eat sugar either. BTW: Aspartame aka NutraSweet, Equal, Neotame, Splenda, Citric Acid and others are great ant killers. Put it in key places where ants are and children are not and you'll be rid of your ant problem.

Q: I can't believe it. My wife and I have been struggling to have children for the last six years. We've tried everything. I stopped eating foods with polysaturated oils in them and started eating the saturated oils per the site you recommended. My sperm count went through the rough my libido is that of a sixteen year old and we're expecting! So much for viagra! Tell me what is the difference?
A: Vegetable oil is hydrogenated and usually rancid but you can't tell when the oil is rancid because you're looking for the smell. HVO is chemically altered not to smell or taste rancid. You've been slowly poisoning your body with the stuff. It suppresses your thyroid which your body need for various hormones. The last thing you need, especially if you're overweight is to suppress your thyroid. Saturated fats, despite all the hype is good for you. Your brain is mostly made of saturated fats. When you don't eat enough saturated fats then you're also starving your brain cells. Your doctor can confirm this. As to your sperm count once your thyroid is working properly then everything else starts falling into place.

Q: I have a question that is a little off topic. It's about a man called Paul Karason or the "Blue Man". I just saw this on CNN where he turned blue because he was drinking Colloidal Silver. Can Colloidal Silver really do this?
A: The media really likes to blow things out or proportion don't they? A friend of mine interviewed Mr. Karason to learn more about his condition and get the facts. The facts are this: Mr. Karason didn't get his blue skin by drinking Colloidal Silver (which is safe). Mr. Karason has had severe dermatitis which he has suffered from since infancy. He had been drinking Colloidal Silver for health reasons. After noticing how well it worked to heal he started using it on his face to help heal the dermatitis. The Colloidal Silver was absorbed directly into his skin and dispersed from that point to the rest of his body. It is important to note that he applied the Colloidal Silver over a number of months to his skin. And he may have been using either impure silver such as two 9's silver, improperly prepared colloidal silver or tap water. Colloidal Silver should only be made from four 9 fine silver and distilled water. BTW: Silver is on the FDA's exclusive GRAS list of safe products.

Q: You know, for the first time in my life I feel like I'm getting some real answers. I lost 15lbs my first month. I really didn't believe that was possible. How come the health professionals tell us that we can't safely lose more than eight pounds of fat a month? I did and I'm perfectly heatlhy and didn't have to starve myself to death.
A: The health professionals are 100% correct in that you shouldn't lose more than 8lbs of fat a month. Otherwise you may deplete your body of essential nutrients and also may inadvertedly toxify or re-poison yourself. I concur completely with them. There are "diet gurus" who will also tell you that weight you lost was water and muscle. Which may be true if you're following their recommendations. However, in your case you neither lost fluid or muscle. What did you lose? You lost toxic material that your body was storing and which was making you sick. As a type 2 diabetic about 15% of your total body weight is made of toxic material that your body hasn't expelled. What does that mean in real terms? If you weigh 250lbs then at least 37lbs is toxic waste which has been stored in your colon. When you lost your 15lbs some of may have been fat. However, most of it was toxins. Over the next few months you'll slowly eliminate these toxins from your body and you'll discover your abs start to flatten out.

Q: Every where I look I'm being told to eat more grains. I should eat whole grains because they're good for me. I don't find any whole grains in my meal plans, how come?
A: A large majority of diabetics are gluten intolerant or sensitive. Gluten stunts the function of the thyroid which in turn means that you're going to gain weight. Ask any cattle farmer why they feed their cattle grains instead of grass? It's to effect the thyroid and help their cattle gain weight quickly. (Fatten up the cow). What happens to cattle which are fed grain? The get sick and need antibiotics. What happens when the cattle get massive doses of antibiotics? The same thing that happens to you. Your body is not designed to eat as much gluten as the current American Diet calls for. Grains once in awhile are fine. But not in every meal or snack. Most experts agree that to lose weight quickly don't eat grains.

Q: I was horrified to discover that fish was so bad for me. Even fish that I catch in our local lake. I thought the fish I was catching didn't taste like it used to when I was a boy. But I couldn't put my finger on why. What about farm fed fish?
A: Most people would be surprised to discover how much mercury is in our ocean fish. Years and years of toxic dumping has lead to most fish being uneatable. Mercury is one of the most dangerous elements in our enviornment. It used to be you could find fish which was certified to be mercury free. I don't know about your area but in my area I think the stores just gave up trying to find fish that was free of mercury. As to farm fed fish this is supposed to be a "safe" replacement. But if you knew what these "farm fed" fish were fed you wouldn't want to eat the fish. It's much like our cattle, fed foods which are not natural (soy, canola oil, gluten and other things not found naturally in our ocean or lakes) for the animal which makes it sick and then the fish has to be treated with antibiotics to keep it alive long enough to flash freeze and sell to unsuspecting consumers.

Q: I noted in one of your FAQ's that you will work with teens. Would you also consider working with children under ten? I have a ten year old niece who has type 1 diabetes and she's having a very difficult time.
A: Unfortunately, as much as I would like to help her condition is outside the area of my expertise. I would recommend that the parent subscribe to the sister site at SmartBodyHealth.com and they'll receive some basic information which is applicable to most if not all diabetics. Always remember that a licensed doctor must always be consulted before making any changes to a child's health.

Q: You are a very open and caring person. I feel like you really take a sincere interest in my health. It's so nice to work with someone who can at least remember my name. I've read the information you've been forwarding to me and watched a few of the videos. I am astounded. How can we get more information out to the public?
A: Thank you for your compliments. I do take a very sincere interest in the health of all of my clients. My personal belief is that everyone has the ability to heal themselves. What most people lack is the information they need to become healthy. As to how to get the information to the public -- it's already out there. But it's being shouted down by the food and drug industry which has the money to out shout those who are trying to inform the public. It's much like the current weather problems. Thirty years ago researchers warned what would happen if we continued ougassing to the atmosphere. No one would listen. Now with ice storms, tornados, hurricanes and north pole melting people are suddenly asking why this is happening? How could this be happening? Now everyone wants something done. Too late.

Q: Do you still work with the disabled?
A: Although I'm not active with MsWeCare any longer or on the board of directors of other non profits I was associated with prior to my stroke I do try to stay active with the disabled. I still give seminars on alternative health, fitness and diet. However, I'm not as active as I was prior to my stroke. Perhaps in the future.

Q: I love the exercises you recommended. I really thought you'd have me jogging or going to the gym. True to your word these are simple exercies that I can do. The weight is coming off and my blood sugar is starting to level out. My doctor is very impressed. I'm curious, do you have any doctors who are or have been your clients?
A: Hmmm...you know I really don't know. To the best of my knowledge I don't and haven't had any. But then since I never ask about occupation there's always that possibility.

Q: Your FAQ is very informative. I've discovered information here that I couldn't find anywhere else. I've verified your statements and I like what I'm hearing. I've got a quick question for you that keeps going through my mind as I read your FAQ. I was wondering why doctors don't simply offer what you offer to your clients? It seems to me that they could easily do this.
A: It's not really the doctor's fault. The AMA tells them what they can and can't do. What is approved and not approved. Then they have their hospital policies to contend with and insurance companies. It's not easy to be a doctor when everyone is trying to tell you how to be one. Not to mention the amount of time it takes to provide a patient with the amount of "one on one" time needed. It simply wouldn't be feasible for them. However, many of the good ones don't mind referring you to me because they know you're going to get the individual attention you need and they will be able to closely monitor your progress. It's the next best thing to them doing it themselves.
