Dramatically improve your health...
Hello and thank you for visiting Diabetic Weight Management. If you’re visiting my website then you’re looking for a solution to both your diabetes and weight problem. A solution that has been eluding you for quite some time. A solution that seems almost mythical in nature. By the time you’ve reached this website you’ve already been to your doctor. They’ve told you the best way to manage your diabetes is to lose weight. You then asked them how you should do that and they told you to exercise, watch what you eat and cut down on sweets. Not very much help, were they? It’s not their fault. They really don’t know either. I’ve had doctors admit to me in private that they’re as much at a loss, as their patients. There’s too much conflicting information and they simply don’t have the time to keep up with
Many of them will try to help you by referring you to a dietitian or a nutritionist. If you’ve gone that route it wasn’t very successful was it? The main problem is that most of them fail to see you as a person. They only see you as a menu plan. They don’t really take into account your lifestyle, current health or the foods you like. The next step for most diabetics is either the Internet or books and magazines on diabetes. Obviously that wasn’t any more helpful than your doctor and nutritionist. It seems that no matter what you do you simply can’t seem to get a handle on either your diabetes or your weight problem. Well the good news is that you have finally found the right place. I am a Holistic Health Practioner and certified as a Sports Nutritionist and a Certified Personal Trainer. I have more than 20 years of experience with working with the disabled and creating custom health and fitness plans for my clients. I specialize in working with individuals such as yourself who are diabetic and struggling to control their weight and manage their diabetes. The good news is that I can help you with both. They both have a common denominator - food. Once we have one of them under control we have the other.
My first goal is to help you lose weight and become healthy. What you may not realize is that despite what the "best selling authors" may tell you, your weight is not causing your diabetes. Your diabetes is causing you to gain weight. The more insulin resistant you become the more weight you’ll gain. So, the first order of business is to create a custom meal plan for you. How is a custom meal plan going to help you? Well the reality is that both your diabetes and your weight gain are directly effected by the foods you eat. By making some small changes to your food choices you will reduce your insulin resistance which in turn will help you to safely lose the weight. Don’t worry, I’m not going to place you on a highly restrictive diet. In fact, I’m going to use a list of your favorite foods to create your custom meal plan. More than 90% of each of the nutritional meals I create for you will be centered around foods you like. The other 10% will be made up of some foods you may have never tried. It’s human nature to get into a rut of what we eat. Eating the same foods over and over again. In fact, most of us are on our own highly restrictive diets and don’t even realize it. Eating basically the same thing every week.
I’m going to introduce you to some new foods. One of them is something called Kefir. This is a highly nutritious drink that you may have never heard of. Frankly, until about a year ago I had never heard of it. I was looking for an alternative to yogurt when I came across this delicious gem. I’ll be honest with you, when I first purchased Kefir I was loathed to try it. I just “knew” it was going to taste terrible. It sat in my refrigerator for about a week. Finally, I decided to bite the bullet and try some. Surprisingly it was DELICIOUS! Out of the four available flavors (Peach, Raspberry, Plain and Vanilla) I choose Peach for my first experience. It reminded me of very rich cream with fresh peaches. If you like whipped cream on your peaches then imagine blending your favorite whipped cream with some fresh peaches and you’ll have an idea of how delicious Kefir can be. The best thing about Kefir is that as a diabetic you can enjoy a glass of it every night. It easily replaces yogurt and even ice cream.
Do you know that half the fight with your weight is simply replacing some bad foods with nutritionally health foods? Take salt for example. You know it’s bad for you, right? Well salt is not bad for you. Table salt made of sodium chloride is bad for you because it’s been stripped of all of it’s minerals. Himalayan salt is perfectly fine for you because it has more than 60 essential nutrients. Simply by replacing bad “junk” foods with their healthy nutritional counterparts you’re going to be well on your way to losing weight. Best of all you’ll be able to lose weight without counting calories, food exchanges, going hungry or any other nonsense. I’m going to teach you how to naturally and safely rev up your metabolism so you can start losing the weight you’ve been trying to rid yourself of. You’re going to be surprised at how easy it can be when you know exactly what you should do. You're going to be shocked to learn that some of the foods you're currently eating because you think they're "healthy" really aren't healthy and are doing more damage to you body than if you simply ate pure sugar. Foods like rice cakes, health bars, yogurt, soy milk and fruit juices are some of the cuplrits undermining your current struggle to control you blood sugar. I’m also going to give you some pointers on how to properly prepare foods. Most people tend to “nuke” their foods. This causes dangerous chemical reactions to take place in your foods. I’ll show you how to safely prepare your foods so that you don’t “nuke” the nutrients out of your foods. I’ll also be sending you some delicious recipes for you to use. I’m not much of a cook so you can bet that these recipes are very simple and quick to make. They’re so easy to fix even single men can cook their own meals. Did you know that many of the recommended "diabetic recipes" by a well-known non-profit will actually push you closer to requiring insulin shots? If you've been using their recipes and your diabetes is still fluctuating erratically then stop. As a client of mine you're going to learn why these recipes can be fatal to your health.
And what would any health and fitness plan be without exercise? Don’t worry I’m not going to have you jogging, running, cycling, going to the gym, doing aerobics, yoga or any other nonsense. If you’re more than 30 pounds overweight then the last thing your poor heart needs is the extra stress. For now, we'll leave these type of exercises for the jocks. Instead I’ll introduce you to some highly effective exercises that you can do. How do I know that you can do them? Well for the last 20 years I’ve worked with people with various disabilities. From those who use a wheelchair to those who had cerebral palsy. If they can do these exercises then I’m positive that you can to. But what if you like aerobics, jogging, pliates and going to the gym? Don’t worry, I’ll create a plan that will incorporate the things you like to do. I created a strength training regimen for a 60 year old woman with Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia and Arthritis. She could lift weights with the best of them. Finally, I’m going to educate you about food, exercise and your health. You’ll discover that although I may initially recommend that you take certain supplements I’m not a big fan of supplements. If you’re eating correctly then you’re going to get all the nutrients you need from your food.
I’ll warn you that much of the information I have to share with you may sound controversial to you. I am well aware of what the "so called experts" of the week are recommending. However, all of my information is based upon current research being conducted by those who are not funded by food companies. You’re going to discover that 90% of what you think you know about food and health are wrong. You’re also going to discover why you believe what you believe. If you’re not able to keep an open mind then you’re doomed to fail no matter how hard you try. Let me give you an example regarding your belief about food. Again, I’ll warn you that it will be difficult for you to believe. But for a moment forget what the “best selling authors” are telling you and consider the following: “I’ll be the first to admit, it wasn’t easy for me at first. It all started by doing something that I naturally do but had forgotten to do when it came to what I ate. I forgot to question authority.” Like you I assumed the government and health professionals had our best interest at heart. That they wanted us to be healthy. That they wouldn’t allow us to be poisoned. What has your doctor told you about salt? What does every article you read about salt tell you? They tell you that salt is dangerous. That too much salt can kill you and that salt is responsible for thousands of unnecessary deaths every year. This is a statistical fact. Yet, have you heard of any talk about the FDA (Food & Drug Administration) pulling salt off the grocery shelves? (Side Note: Salt is not bad for you. Your body needs salt. Salt is a vitally needed element in the treatment of diabetics. A little more than 27% of your bones is made of salt. Osteoporosis results when the body needs more salt and takes it from your bones. What is bad for you is sodium choloride aka table salt. Researchers who claim to be exacting in their clinical studies for some reason tend to be very inexact in their terminology.) What about sugar? What is the major cause of diabetes? Diabetes has been steadily increasing for the last fifty years. That more than 284,000 people die from diabetes every year. Yet, sugar is in almost everything we eat. From our breakfast cereals and breakfast “health” bars to French fries and hamburgers at our local fast food restaurant. Have you heard any talk about the FDA pulling sugar off the grocery store shelves? (Side Note: All artificial sugars and sweeteners are fatal to diabetics. Read that again. All artificial sugars and sweeteners are fatal to diabetics.) We make some erroneous assumptions about the safety of our foods and this is what leads us to becoming ill. This is what is causing heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, cancer and a host of other health problems. You see, a part of us knows that sugar is bad for us. We see this is the media on a daily basis. But on the other hand we also believe that our government is going to ensure our safety and health. And, surely the government wouldn’t allow something that would poison us and eventually kill us to stay on the grocery shelves. We’re receiving incongruent messages when it comes to our health. On one hand we have medical authorities telling us that sugar is bad. On the other hand we have government authority not doing anything about sugar — which leads us to believe that sugar really isn’t as dangerous as the medical authorities believe it is. Besides, the sugary food taste soooo good… Guess who we tend to believe? The government, right? After all it’s the government is more powerful than the medical industry, right? And, this is the downfall of many Americans. All of us are waiting for the government to take action before we believe there is a real danger. As long as the government doesn’t take action then we falsely believe there is no danger and continue to eat foods which are bad for us. The results is devastating to our health. We end up with diabetes, hypothyroidism, hypertension, strokes, heart attacks and cancer. Millions of Americans are needlessly dying every year. The good news is that YOU don’t have to.
You can choose to take your life into your own hands and start making good decisions about your health. You can choose to ignore the "diet gurus" and infomercials. You don’t have to move to the next step of taking insulin shots. You don’t have to worry about losing your vision. You don’t have to worry about having a limb amputated. You can make the choice to live a normal and healthy life. You’ll discover that although I am holistic in nature I am also realistic. You’re not going to do anything you don’t want to do and there’s no point in my trying to convince you otherwise. Instead, what I will do is have a phone consultation with you. Discuss your options. Discuss what you want to do and then create a customized Diabetic Weight Mangement plan that fits your unique lifestyle. As you might guess I’m not cheap. Although there are a lot of nutritionists and other professionals who will charge you anywhere from $25/hr to $150/hr I’m not one of them. I take a personal interest in my clients. Working very closely with them. Understanding their unique needs. Staying in daily contact. You see, I understand that although you may have diabetes that is probably not your only health problem. You also probably suffer from hypothyroidism, arthritis, acid reflux, constipation, gallbladder removal and a host of other problems. All of this must be taken into account. You’ll find few health professionals who can cope with the myriad of health problems which you may be experiencing. In this day of specialization, even your doctor may miss something. One doctor may be treating you for diabetes, another for arthritis, another for acid reflux and another for hypothyroidism. Each of them treating you independently of the other and sometimes forgetting you're one person instead of individual illnesses. My initial consultation fee is $450 for a 45 to 90 minute phone consultation. In this consultation we will discuss your various options and you’ll tell me what you believe is right for you. We will then decide whether I will be able to assist you or not. If we decide to go forward, I will create a Diabetic Weight Management health and fitness plan for you based upon the information you provided me. We will then have your family doctor approve the plan and sign off on it. Once your family doctor has approved the plan we will get down to specifics and will be keeping your family doctor appraised of your progress. It is important to always keep in mind that I neither diagnose nor perscribe. I am not a medical doctor. Your doctor is always the last word when it comes to your health. Some of my best referrals come from family doctors who want to help their patients but don’t know how. Together your doctor and I will monitor your progress and suggest changes to help ensure your success. Within the first month you may be seeking out your doctor to have your medication adjusted. If you follow your Diabetic Weight Mangement program then you’ll discover that you won’t need as high a dosage of medication as you’ve had in the past. This is how we will judge how effective your following your Diabetic Weight Mangement plan. At the end of every month you will be needing to make an appointment with your doctor for having your medication adjusted downward. This is how we will monitor your progress. Although my fees are considerable when compared to other professionals the thing to keep in mind is that you’re not paying me for a custom health and fitness plan. You’re paying me for results. You’re paying me to provide you the tools, support and information you require to live a long and health life. I will be in daily contact with you to help ensure your success. I can’t cure you and I can’t guarantee your success. The only thing I can do is provide you with the tools, support and information you need to do it yourself. If you cheat. If you do something you know you’re not supposed to do. If you try to take short cuts. If you fail to maintain your commitment to living. All of this will determine how successful you are at losing weight and successfully managing your diabetes.
In other words the only person who can guarantee your health and fitness is you. There’s no magic pill, pixie dust or silver bullet. Everything depends upon you to use the tools and information you're provided with. You now have an important decision to make. You can continue as you have been fighting a losing battle to manage your diabetes and lose weight. You know where the road you’re on is going. You know the health risks. You're the only one who can decide if you want to continue down the road you're on and eventually start taking insulin shots two or three times a day. You're the only one who can decide if you would prefer to risk losing you vision, having a limb amputated or dying from complications. You're the only one who can choose life over death. That’s basically what it comes down to. You have two choices, death or life. If you choose life then I invite you to start the process. Complete the form below and you’ll be sent the paperwork I’ll need to get your file started. [Please accept my apologies. The form has been temporarily removed in order to give me time to pare down my waiting list to 50. If you have urgent need of my services please submit a support ticket. Thank you.] Keep in mind that I am not agreeing to work with you at this point. I am simply inviting you to start the process. I normally have a waiting list of about 50 to 73 people. Completing the initial paperwork only gets you on the waiting list. If your health requires immediate attention, i.e. your doctor is thinking of moving you to insulin shots in the very near future — then please note this in your paperwork and I’ll try to give you a higher priority. It will be imperative that you complete the paperwork as quickly as possible for me to take a look at it. I only work with those who are Type 2 Diabetics who are not taking insulin shots. If you’re currently on insulin shots then I won’t be able to help you unless you've been specifically referred to me by either your family doctor or a specialist. I look forward to helping you to achieve the health and fitness you expect and deserve.
Leonard Manion B.S., M.A., C.S.N, C.P.T. P.S. I realize that some of you reading this simply can not afford my services. With the recession we're entering into money has become a great concern. To assist you with your diabetes and weight loss I've created another website at SmartBodyHealth.com. This website is a private membership site which contains information that will help you to create your own custom health and fitness plan. Providing you with the essential tools you need to separate fact from fiction. I've invested several thousand dollars to have this site created and use a private communication system to ensure that you receive the lastest cutting-edge informaton on diabetes.
